Meet Blake Griffin

Clippers fans have been waiting for more than a year to see the guy they drafted with the #1 overall pick in 2009. Blake Griffin was injured in last year’s preseason and forced to sit out the entirety of last year’s season.

This means that Blake Griffin is a rookie this year, making his NBA debut last night. Here’s how he got started:

Griffin ended with 20 points from 8 for 14 shooting along with 14 rebounds and 4 assists against the Fail Blazers. Outside of the box score, Griffin looked surprisingly good. He crashed the boards for nearly every rebound in play, and every time (and I mean *every* time) he had the ball within 10 feet of the rim, he tried to dunk it.

Even when he was on the bench, he was cheering on teammates, getting guys pumped up, and looking to give the crowd their money’s worth.

Hubie Brown was calling the game for ESPN, and ended the night with an unofficial man-crush.

Keep your eye out for him. You’ll be glad you did.
