Jazz beat Lakers (Again) to extend to 7-0 in Preseason

Not for nothing, but the Utah Jazz have looked darn good in preseason this year. They extended to 7-0 last night, and it’s important to keep in mind that their last two games have been against Smoke Monster and the Lakers.

Unfortunately, last night saw an injury for Al Jefferson, who got his hand caught in Theo Ratliff’s jersey during a drive and ended up bruising his knuckle as a result. No word yet on his return, but it’s unlikely that he’ll go against the Kings on Friday night.

Still, there has been plenty of good news coming out of preseason so far. Beyond the obvious additions of Bell and Jefferson, both of whom look comfortable and confident, Gordon Hayward put up 26 the other night against the Lakers (in the Staples Center no less) after starting off a bit slowly in earlier games. Fesenko has also looked in preseason. We’ll see how the season starts, but I think it’s fair to say that the off-season has been productive for him.

I’ll dive deeper into the Jazz lineup later (rumor is that they’re going to cuts today in order to get down to 13), but this squad looks to be coming together.
