I know this is wishful thinking, but I hope this means we get to see Patrick Ewing Sr. sitting next to Spike Lee on the sideline.

Patrick Ewing Jr. is now a New York Knick.

If you’re not overly familiar with Junior’s career, he played two years Indiana University before electing to transfer to transferring to his father’s Alma mater: Georgetown. As per NCAA transfer rules, he had to sit out his first year, but averaged 5.1 PPG and 3.1 RPG from 18.1 minutes in his last two years.

Georgetown went 30-7 and 28-6 over those two years.

Ewing Jr. was drafted 43rd overall by Sacramento Kings in the 2008 draft. He was later traded to the Rockets, and then traded again to the Knicks, and played limited minutes in the pre-season before finally landing on the Knicks D-League team, the Reno Bighorns in Dec. 2008.

Since, he’s been dealing with a MCL injury, but has slowly been improving since. He played for the Magic (partly coached by his father) in this year’s Orlando summer league, along with another stint on the Knicks summer league team in Las Vegas.
